At a memorial service a month or so afterward,
I read my poems:"
* * *
Laughed and embraced
Talked about the kids and ailments
How lifeís so fast-paced.
Never dreamed that one day
They wonít be coming any more
We didnít get to say good-bye
LAMBS OF THE SKY
That this bitter news be of someone else
Who plummeted in the sea
While others under illusion
That friends arrived safe
Or is this nightmare ours?
Among the millions who trust in ingenious flight
They, the designated sufferers,
Blood payment for his existence on Mother Earth.
We salute you in all solemnity!
THE 2nd ANNIVERSARY
The rest we can rationalize.
Two years afterward to the day
Enough to remind us at that hour
A madman sent screaming to the ocean below
Theories emerge to explain what happened
Adult reason tells us to take hold,
