"MACS of SCOTLAND"
ONE OF THE MACS   ONE OF THE MACS   ONE OF THE MACS

THE MACS - CHAPTER 3

A very creative sort
In time the word had spread
Good work at a reasonable price
The Scot was at the head!

Hot-tempered Malcolm helped clear the land
Worked with a crew of six
Girdled trees, burned stumps
Chopped with unerring licks.

Always a need for someone to read
Take the young in tow
Sit them down long enough
For reading and writing to grow!

Matthew fit this teacher’s mold
Had he remained, who knows?
Might’ve been a Presbyterian
Preaching where the Devon flows.

He became the schoolmaster
Though young his prestige deserved
By nature a good and diligent lad
Lore was well-preserved!

It’s intended that we multiply
For that we need no school
Some more desirable than others
Both sides of the gender pool!

Charmer Sean was wild and fast
Always on the run
Loved a lass, left her with child
But she wasn’t the only one.

Maybe reproof for his brother’s light way
Malcolm in a very short spell
Picked a girl who limped along
From fracturing her hip when she fell!

An eternal mystery the why of things
Deciding on whim for life
Careful in dealing day to day
But hasty in selecting a wife!
